As a skincare junkie, it’s no surprise that our founder likes to keep her makeup to a minimum. Her essentials include plenty of skin-loving ingredients to give you that skin-but-better look—perfect to welcome a new year.
Face: Spoiler alert, much of my makeup comes from Westman Atelier. The products are fool proof, the ingredients are clean and the coverage is natural. Their Vital Skin Foundation Stick is the only foundation I have ever run out of, and their new Vital Skincare Complexion Drops are fantastic for light coverage. To conceal and brighten around my eyes and nose, I use Chantecaille’s Le Camouflage Stylo.
Cheeks: Continuing on with my love for all things Westman, I use the Face Trace Contour Stick, it glides on effortlessly and instantly adds dimension to your face, followed by the Super Loaded Tinted Highlight. This hybrid bronzer and blush blends easily and gives just the right amount of color. And to add dewiness to my cheekbones, cupid’s bow, and eyes, I highlight with the Lit Up Highlight Stick.
For eyes, I keep it as simple as possible: Eyeliner, mascara, and brow gel. Lately, it seems every makeup artist I ask recommends Tower28 MakeWaves Lengthening + Curling Clean Mascara and it’s a game-changer. I love Jilian Dempsey’s Kohl Eyeliner because the color is rich and it’s easy to smudge and blend. On my brows, I use Kosas Air Brow Tinted Clean Volumizing Eyebrow Gel for full, feathery brows.
Lips: I keep a rotation of nude lip formulas and I’m currently using NUDESTIX Gel Color Lip & Cheek Balm and Lip Glacé. The first one is super creamy and doubles as lipstick and lip liner and I top it off with their lip plumper gloss.
Setting Spray: To seal, I use Tatcha’s Luminous Dewy Skin Mist. It’s a fine-mist moisturizer that can be used under or over makeup for dewy, glowing skin.
PSA from MFK: I know that after a long day or a night out, removing your makeup is a dread—but it’s so important to do it, and your skin will thank you in the morning.
